CIF – Cost, Insurance & Freight
In Incoterms, CIF (Cost, Insurance, and
Freight) is a shipping term used for sea and inland waterway transport where
the seller covers the cost of the goods, insurance, and freight to the named
port of destination. Once the goods are loaded onto the vessel, the risk of
loss or damage transfers to the buyer.
