The ability of an Operating System (OS) to run more than one application at a time is called – Multitasking. 

02.  What is a Virus? 

VIRUS stands for Vital Information Resources Under Siege. This term is used to describe a type a program designed to destroy data on your computer which can travel to "infect" other computers is called a virus. 

03. What will happen we boot-up a PC? 

When we boot up a PC - portions of the operating system are copied from disk into memory. 

04. What is Plug-n-Play? 

Removing and replacing devices without turning of your computer is called Plug-n-Play. 

05. What is the use of a Firewall in Computer? 

Firewall protects us from computer hacker intrusions. 

06. Why we need a Web Browser? 

To view information on the Web we must have a Web Browser. 

07. What is meant by Voice Recognition? 

The computer's ability of distinguishing spoken words is called Voice Recognition. 

08. Why we need a Desktop? 

To access a mainframe or super computer, we use a Desktop.

09. What is an Adapter? 

A device for changing the connection on a connector to a different configuration is an Adapter. 

10. What is a Control Unit in Computer? 

The part of a computer that co-ordinates all its functions is called its Control Unit. 

11. What is the full form of ASCII ? 

ASCII stands for American standard code for Information Interchange. 

12. What is a Source Code ? 

A program written in a high level language is known as Source code. 

13. Which computer language is used in Internet ? 

Computer language used on Internet is Java. 

14. What is a Bridge in the context of Computer Networks? 

A device that connects multiple network segments along the data link layer is called as Bridge. 

15.Whst is a Compiler? 

A programme that converts a high level language source file into a machine language file is known as Compiler. 

16. What are Passwords? 

Coded entries which are used to gain access to a computer system are called Passwords. 

17. What is the use of Control Key? 

Control key is used in combination with another key to perform a special task. 

18. What is the other name for Mother Board ? 

Mother board is also known as System board. 

19. When we use the term “Drag and Drop” ? 

Drag and drop is the term is used to describe using the mouse to move an item on the screen to a new location . 

20. What is Read Only? 

A disk's content that is recorded at the time of manufacture and that cannot be changed or erased by the user is Read Only.

21. In which language Computers work? 

Computers Work in Bit language. 

22. What is important to boot a Computer? 

A computer cannot "boot" if it does not have the Operating System. 

23. What is a Cursor in Computer? 

Cursor is the name of the screen symbol that shows the placement of the next character . 

24. What are Hardware devices? 

Hardware devices that are not part of the main computer system and are often added later to the system are peripherals. 

25. What is an Icon in Computer? 

“Icon “ is a symbol on the screen that represents a disk, document or program that we can select.

26. What is the other name for CPU ? 

Another word for the CPU is “microprocessor”. 

27. What is known as Brain of the Computer? 

CPU is the "brain" of computer . 

28. What is Nibble? 

Each digit in Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) is known as Nibble. 

29. What are Buses in Computer Networking? 

Different components on the motherboard of a PC processor unit are linked together by sets of parallel electrical conducting lines, which are called Buses. 

30. Can we convert input to digital form in Analog Computer? 

In analog computer input is never converted to digital form. 

31. What is Software? 

Software are Programs or a set of electronic instructions that tell a computer what to do. 

32. What is the Desktop in computer? 

The "desktop" of a computer refers to the visible screen. 

33. What is the other name for a Desktop computer? 

A desktop computer is also known as a PC.

MP3 is a sound format. 

35. What is meany by Programming? 

Developing sets of instructions for the computer to follow and to do the task the same way as many times as needed is called Programming.

The Central Processing Unit (CPU) constitutes - Operational registers, Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) and Control Unit (CU). 

37. What we find in a Computer? 

A computer is a box full of electronic Circuits.

All deleted files go to Recycle Bin. 

39. What is the function of a CPU? 

The function of CPU is to read, interpret and process the information and instruction. 

40. How many digits are there in ASCII? 

ASCII  is a 7 bit code for letters, numbers and other symbols. 

41. What is the least powerful Computer? 

The least powerful computer is Microcomputer. 

42. What is the word length of a PC? 

Word length of a Personal Computer is 32 bits. 

43. What is the other name for PC? 

Personal computers are also called Desktop computers. 

44. With what material IC is made of ? 

An Integrated Circuit (IC) is Fabricated on a tiny silicon chip. 

45. What is a Network? 

A Network is a combination of hardware and software that facilitates the sharing of information between computing devices. 

46. What is Multiprocessing ? 

The capability of the operating system to enable two or more than two instructions to execute simultaneously in a single computer system by using multiple CPUs is Multiprocessing. 

47. What is a Utility in Computer environment? 

A utility is a program that makes the computer easier to use. 

48.  What are tracks in Magnetic Disk? 

In magnetic disks, data is organized on the platter in a concentric sets of rings called Track. 

49. What is Padding in Computer environment? 

The process of starting or restarting a computer system by loading instruction from a secondary storage device into the computer memory is called - Padding. 

50. What is full form of RAM and What it is ? 

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. RAM is the memory that holds only the program and data that the CPU is presently processing.
