Average Indexed Monthly Earnings
Average indexed monthly earnings (AIME) is a
key figure used to determine a person's Social Security benefits by serving as
the foundation for calculating their primary insurance amount (PIA). AIME is
based on an individual's 35 highest-earning years during their working life.
