CHAMPIONS (MSME)

Full form of CHAMPIONS is "Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength". 

The CHAMPIONS Portal (www.champions.gov.in): Launched by the Prime Minister in May 2020, it is a unified, technology-driven platform serving as a one-stop solution for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India. 

It aims to help MSMEs overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and ultimately become national and international champions. 

The portal was designed to address MSME grievances, provide guidance and support, and help MSMEs navigate various government schemes and policies. 

It utilizes technology including AI, data analytics, and machine learning for quick grievance redressal and to connect MSMEs with relevant officials, banks, and government agencies. 

Grievance Redressal: It provides a platform for MSMEs to register and resolve their grievances related to various aspects of their operations, such as finance, raw materials, labour, and regulatory permissions.

Handholding and Guidance: The portal offers support and guidance to MSMEs in navigating government schemes, policies, and procedures. 

Access to Information: It disseminates information about various MSME-related schemes and initiatives of the Ministry.

Technology Integration: The portal utilizes modern ICT tools, including Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning, to facilitate effective communication, information dissemination, and grievance redressal. 

Components: The scheme is comprised of three main components: 

MSME-Sustainable (ZED): Focuses on encouraging MSMEs to achieve "Zero Defect, Zero Effect" in their products, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. 

MSME-Competitive (LEAN): Aims at reducing waste and improving efficiency through the adoption of Lean Manufacturing practices. 

MSME-Innovative (Incubation, Design, IPR): Supports knowledge-based innovation through incubation centers, promotes awareness of Intellectual  Property Rights (IPR), and encourages design improvement. 

National and Global Reach: The portal seeks to help MSMEs expand their reach nationally and internationally by providing them with the necessary support and resources.   

In essence, the CHAMPIONS portal is a comprehensive platform designed to nurture and elevate MSMEs, transforming them from small units into powerful contributors to the Indian economy.
