RRBs – Updates 01

In my Banking Tutor Lessons (BTL) I am covering the topics applicable only to Commercial Banks. Some employees of RRBs, made a request to share topics applicable to RRBs also. Keeping their request in mind, I am compiling this series “RRBs – Updates”.

 

Targets/Sub-targets for Priority sector   The targets and sub-targets set under priority sector lending, to be computed on the basis of the ANBC/CEOBSE as applicable as on the corresponding date of the preceding year, are as below: Categories Targets/ Sub-targets Total Priority Sector 75% of ANBC or CEOBSE, whichever is higher. However, lending to Medium Enterprises, Social Infrastructure and Renewable Energy shall be reckoned for priority sector achievement up to 15% of ANBC only. Agriculture 18% of ANBC or CEOBSE, whichever is higher. Within this target, 14% is prescribed for NCFs, out of which a target of 10% is prescribed for SMFs. Micro Enterprises 7.5% of ANBC or CEOBSE, whichever is higher Weaker Sections 15% of ANBC or CEOBSE, whichever is higher The data on priority sector advances shall be furnished to NABARD at quarterly and annual intervals. Bulk Deposit   In case of RRBs, single Rupee term deposits of Rupees one crore and above is treated as Bulk Deposit.   RBI MD dt 01-04-2025

 

 

Special Refinance Scheme for Installation of Solar Rooftop Systems for Residential Sector   NABARD vide letter dated 31st December 2024 advised the above Scheme.

 

 

Operational Guidelines for Schematic Lending under Long Term Refinance for F.Y 2024-25   NABARD vide letter dated 29th October 2024 advised the above Scheme.

 

 

 

 

Joint Account and Nomination - Persons of Queer Community   It has been clarified therein that there are no restrictions for persons of the Queer community to open a joint bank account and also to nominate a person in queer relationship as a nominee to receive the balance in the account, in the event of death of the account holder.   NABARD’s Circular Letter dt 30th October, 2024   The term "queer community" or "LGBTQ community" (also LGBTQ+, LGBTQIA+) refers to a group of individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or questioning), and intersex, united by shared experiences and a sense of solidarity due to historical and ongoing discrimination.   LGBTQ is an acronym that stands for "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (or "questioning").   LGBTQIA+ is an acronym that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and others. The “+” represents other sexual identities and gender identities that are not included in the acronym.
